Leading waterproofing specialist, Kemper System, has added to the experience in its senior sales team with the appointment of new regional sales manager (Midlands, South Wales and South West), Nigel Thackeray.
Bringing more than 25 years’ experience of roofing, car parks and the wider building envelope to Kemper System, Nigel has spent the past six years as senior business development manager for a roofing materials supplier. He is also vice chairman of the NFRC (National Federation of Roofing Contractors) in the South West and a former regional secretary of the Institute of Roofing. Nigel has a wealth of background knowledge in both sales and technical roles in the roofing industry.
Nigel’s appointment is part of a resourcing strategy from Kemper System designed to manage continued growth. It follows the promotion of David Hinton to the role of executive director – sales, just six months after he was first appointed as specifier liaison manager. It also comes after the appointment of new technical sales representative, Gareth Pond, who will be responsible for customer relationships in the East of England.
Commenting on his new appointment, Nigel said, “My experience in the roofing sector and my role with the NFRC mean that I am up to speed with the latest industry trends and understand both the challenges and opportunities that characterise the marketplace for contractors.
“Joining Kemper System provides a career opportunity for me to further develop and use that knowledge and experience with this forward thinking and progressive company. With a growing market share and some extremely prestigious projects using both the Kemperol V210 and solvent-free 2K-PUR systems, Kemper System is both trusted in the marketplace and driving the sustainability agenda amongst specifiers.”
Managing director of Kemper System, Harry Cowell, adds: “Continuing growth means that we need to ensure we have the right resources and experience to maintain high levels of service and technical support to our existing customers while taking full advantage of the opportunities generated by the refurbishment market and renewed confidence in the construction industry.
“We have promoted David to maximise the value of his expertise within the company while recruiting Nigel is a major coup for Kemper System. Gareth’s appointment ensures that we can continue to offer accountable, local customer care as we grow.”
